A return to Henley Business School

Chris Matchan, a visiting Fellow of Henley Business School and all-round HR guru, again constructed a stimulating day for nearly 60 delegates at the prestigious Henley Business School. I was fortunate to be invited along with some of the top HR luminaries of British business to put our individual perspectives on:
TALENT – stepping up to the challenge.
It was fascinating to hear from Greg Allen of Nokia, Yetunde Hoffman of Imperial tobacco, Perry Timms of The Big Lottery and Nigel Toon of Allied Bakeries...each illuminating a very different aspect of the incredibly important role of HR within modern business. Chris opened the day and set the agenda by talking about one of his favourite Talent tools 'The hedgehog model'....if you haven't heard him talk about it yet, make sure you sign up to one of his programmes at Henley or simply contact Emma or Roz the Queens of learning for the Henley Partnership . Though certainly not an HR professional nor in the same league as my fellow presenters when talking about Talent strategies, I managed to get good feedback by expanding on the thinking from secrets Two and Three from my book and annotating the lecture with highly relevant case studies from around the world - getting emotion into business has never been more important! I look forward to returning to Henley again.
